How Do I... Add a Person article
Intro para
Title
Try to summarise the story in no more than five words
Image
It is worth finding a relevant image (properly credited and linked back to) as this will encourage readers to visit the page more. Sometimes whilst doing a google search for an image you may come across other sources for the story itself. A case in point, searching for "witches Lowestoft" lead me to Ivan Bunn's excellent site http://www.lowestoftwitches.com I was then able to add a credit and share our new page with him.
Having found a suitable image, noted down who to credit/ask permission from, Save with a more useful name than IMG5679.jpg, use the syntax [Subject of Photo][Date of photo][otherDetails].jpg and avoid spaces eg JamesAldis1901Somme.jpg
This has the additional benefit that if you need to reuse the image on another page it is easy to find and allows you to find other relevant images. Eg by searching for "Somme" (if looking for all pics of Somme offensive) or "Shreeve" (if looking for all pics with Shreeve family members in) or in the case of the screenshot opposite "bonnet" (all pics with Bonnets!). This does not have to be exhaustive but really helps in future. | rename file video... | add image video...
Body
This is the story you are telling. Some prefer to write in say Microsoft Word and then copy/paste into this section. If quite long consider breaking up into paragraphs with Sub Headings (Heading 3 recommended). Don't forget to cite/link to your sources for the information you add. | video...
